A daring escape from the grasp of a vile Hutt


It is a period of unrest and opportunity in the galaxy. The Galactic Empire struggles to maintain control in the midst of civil war. Meanwhile, scoundrels and smugglers, explorers and expatriates, and fringers of all types scramble for a living on the Outer Rim of the Galaxy.

On the desert world of TATOOINE, a few renegades have run afoul of local crime boss, TEEMO THE HUTT. Trapped in the backwater spaceport of MOS SHUUTA, the renegades have no choice but to find a way off the planet by any means necessary…

We join the heroes as they are darting through back alleys of Mos Shuuta, after having just made their escape from the palace of Teemo the Hutt. The heat and the trials of having to free themselves from the slimy clutches of the Hutt have taken their toil. As they spy their destination, the Lucky Bantha cantina, they can hear the grunts and squeals of the pursuing Gamorreans approach from down a nearby alley. If they can avoid capture, the owner of the cantina, a Devaronian named Viss, promised to help them secure passage off the planet.

They quickly run down the steps of the cantina’s entrance, the cool air a respite from the relief from the scorching Tatooine sun, and their eyes adjust to the sudden dimness of the interior. A Devaronian stands behind the bar polishing glasses, his smile intimidating. On a stage in the far corner from the entrance, a lithe Twi’lek dancing girl dances to the jizz music being pumped through the cantina’s speakers. Private booths line the walls and various tables and chairs are scattered across the cantina floor. What few patrons are there are paying more attention to the dancer than the group that just entered the establishment. The one or two that actually cast glances in the party’s direction soon turn their attention back to the cheap drinks in front of them and the dancer on the stage.

With the sounds of the pursuing Gamorreans approaching, the party quickly looks for hiding spots in the cantina. Dolmin and Marcellus are motioned behind the bar by Viss and take shelter in a small closet while Jez, Rodriq, and Tereez run backstage, ignoring the annoyed look shot their direction by the dancer. Ciirpiir ambles over to one of the private booths and sits down and attempted to act casual. Several seconds after the last of the group attempted to hide, seven Gamorreans burst in through the cantina’s entrance. They slowly begin to prowl through the cantina searching for their quarry. All seven turn and look towards Ciirpiir who, despite all attempts to look like he belonged, was sweating like a

Wondering how to get started? Here are a few tips:

1. Invite your players

Invite them with either their email address or their Obsidian Portal username.

2. Edit your home page

Make a few changes to the home page and give people an idea of what your campaign is about. That will let people know you’re serious and not just playing with the system.

3. Choose a theme

If you want to set a specific mood for your campaign, we have several backgrounds to choose from. Accentuate it by creating a top banner image.

4. Create some NPCs

Characters form the core of every campaign, so take a few minutes to list out the major NPCs in your campaign.

A quick tip: The “+” icon in the top right of every section is how to add a new item, whether it’s a new character or adventure log post, or anything else.

5. Write your first Adventure Log post

The adventure log is where you list the sessions and adventures your party has been on, but for now, we suggest doing a very light “story so far” post. Just give a brief overview of what the party has done up to this point. After each future session, create a new post detailing that night’s adventures.

One final tip: Don’t stress about making your Obsidian Portal campaign look perfect. Instead, just make it work for you and your group. If everyone is having fun, then you’re using Obsidian Portal exactly as it was designed, even if your adventure log isn’t always up to date or your characters don’t all have portrait pictures.
